Tips and Inspiration for Spring Family Photo Outfits in Portland, Oregon
I just placed an order to add some spring family photo outfits to my client closet and had too much fun creating this lookbook to help you choose your outfits for your spring family photoshoot:
Color palette wise, I suggest light neutral colors for your spring family photo outfits! Think creams, tans, and taupes for beautiful, timeless images. This is to avoid any color casts on skin and because it makes sure the focus is on your beautiful family. 🤗
You can add in some springy swatches of color like olive green, dusty blue or pale pink. Then I love to use texture to bring photoshoot outfits to the next level. In the spring time, a knit romper or sweater plus some corduroy pants or dress?!?! So cute. Then it’s up to personal style if you like more casual or formal wear.
Family Photoshoot Outfits Tips
When coordinating family outfits, I like to start with the more fashion-forward or self-conscious member of the family. Picking their outfit first allows them to be comfortable and then, from there, we can build beautiful, coordinating outfits for everyone else in the family. A lot of the time, this is the mom of the family! Pick the outfit that you feel the best in and coordinate your kids’ and partner’s outfits from there.
My family photos sessions are snuggly and joyful, so I encourage families to choose outfits that are comfortable to move around in. A friendly round of tickle fights, piggy back rides and snuggly hugs are bound to happen, so it is helpful when the outfits stay in place during movement.
