I love in-home newborn sessions because we can capture memories from the newborn bubble in your very own space. It’s so special to have your family home as the backdrop of the photos. A precious detail we captured at this Portland Oregon in home newborn photo session, is baby S in her crib that her grandpa handcrafted himself. He also built custom book shelves for their nursery.
Another perk of this in home session, is that big brother was so comfortable and playful during our time together. He was able to show me all his stuffies in his room and even get a quick snack during the session while I was photographing baby sis. It can be helpful to be home for photos, especially for kids who feel shy about new people and/or photo sessions. Big brother was feeling shy about me at first but quickly warmed up after showing me around his room.
Probably the biggest pro of doing an in home newborn session is that you don’t have to leave your home while you’re newly postpartum. No loading up baby and any older siblings. No stress of forgetting anything. This is a time for resting as much as possible and bonding with your little one.
